		Namakkal is the headquarters of Namakkal district in Tamil Nadu. Namakkal is nearby Kolli hills and part of the Eastern Ghats. Kolli Hills is the most attractive destination in Namakkal district. Cauvery River flows through the Namakkal district.

		Namakkal is also called as "Namagiri", which is the name of the rock formation at the center of the town. Namakkal is well known for its poultry farms and its truck building facilities. The bulk of poultry products are supplied to the all over India. The economy of the district is primarily agricultural.

		Namakkal is famous because of Sri Namagiri Thayar's merciness, the greatness of Lakshmi Narasimha's cave temple and the greatness of Lord Hanuman. These three popular temples are located around the Rockford. Namakkal is well connected in all major cities by road.
